Let the Buyer Beware When Buying French Property

The underlying principle in English law is “buyer beware” – in other words, it is up to the buyer to check the nature of what he is buying. A seller is not entitled to misrepresent: but if someone sells “a house” he is not thereby obliged to tell the buyer everything that is wrong with it.
